This page does not replace the customer's technical specification
For every job, the contract, approved paint system, manufacturer's technical documents (TDS and SDS), customer's ITP plan, and applicable standards are taken as basis. The topics here show which information needs to be clarified before the offer.
Topics clarified in the specification
The following items are put in writing mutually at the offer stage. An item you do not have does not prevent an offer; the suggestion comes from us.
- 01 Part description and quantity Material list or BOQ, quantity, weight, total surface area, and geometry.
- 02 Existing surface condition Scale, rust grade, old coating, oil and grease contamination, welding residues.
- 03 Surface preparation degree Sa 2½ or Sa 3 according to ISO 8501-1, St 3 for mechanical cleaning; SSPC equivalent upon request.
- 04 Surface profile Target roughness range and measurement method according to ISO 8503.
- 05 Corrosivity category C3, C4, or C5 according to ISO 12944 and target durability period.
- 06 Paint system and coat structure Product code or resin family, number of coats, target DFT per coat and total.
- 07 Color and appearance RAL code, gloss expectation, and visual acceptance criteria, if any.
- 08 Masking and stripe coat Surfaces to be masked and requirement for stripe coat at welds and edges.
- 09 Climatic limits Allowed temperature, relative humidity, and dew point difference limits during application.
- 10 Intercoat interval and curing Minimum and maximum waiting times between coats and full curing conditions according to manufacturer's technical data.
- 11 Test and inspection scope DFT measurement frequency, adhesion test, salt test, and reporting expectations.
- 12 Special tests Adhesion, thickness, and chemical resistance tests requested on a project-specific basis.
- 13 ITP, hold, and witness points Approval and inspection points and control steps in accordance with the customer's ITP plan.
- 14 Reporting and delivery file Quality records, test results, certificate of conformity (CoC), and the structure of the delivery file.
- 15 Packaging and shipment Packaging type, labeling, loading method, and delivery location.
- 16 Schedule and commercial scope Target delivery date, paint supply party, and inspection plan, if any.

Jointly Reviewed Documents
The following documents are jointly evaluated during the quotation and order stage, conformity is verified, and the process is planned accordingly. Those not in your possession do not prevent quotation.
- Purchase order or contract
- Technical specification
- Drawings and parts lists
- Approved paint system
- Standards to be applied
- Manufacturer TDS and SDS documents
- Customer ITP plan
- Scope of testing and reporting
Applicable paint families
Which family will be used is determined by the environmental corrosivity, target durability, and approved paint system. The following are resin groups applicable at the facility.
| Resin family | Typical location | Key features |
|---|---|---|
| Alkyd | Primer and topcoat | Economical protection in C2-C3 environments, easy application. |
| Epoxy | Primer and intermediate coat | High barrier performance and chemical resistance. |
| Zinc-rich primer | Primer | Cathodic protection; used as the first coat in C4-C5 systems. |
| High-build epoxy | Intermediate coat | High film thickness and mechanical stability in a single coat. |
| Aluminum pigmented | Intermediate coat | Enhances barrier effect, reduces moisture permeability. |
| Polyurethane | Top coat | Color and gloss retention, UV resistance. |
| Water-based systems | Primer and top coat | Environmentally sensitive application with low solvent content. |
| Intumescent | Fire protection coating | R30-R120 resistance according to section factor and target duration. |
| High-temperature paints | Special application | For chimneys, exhausts, and heat-exposed surfaces. |
Product selection is not a brand recommendation. The final system shall be determined according to project specifications, approved paint system, and manufacturer's technical documents (TDS/SDS).

Frequently asked questions
The most frequently asked questions during the quotation phase. If you cannot find what you are looking for, you can write directly.
Yes. When part information, existing surface condition, and working environment are communicated, the appropriate surface preparation, paint system, and control scope are recommended by our technical team. The specification is created together based on this recommendation.
Yes. The customer's technical specification, the approved paint system, and the ITP plan, if any, are taken as the basis. Application and controls are planned according to these documents. If a clause in the specification cannot be met under the facility conditions, it is stated in writing at the quotation stage.
Both are possible. Which party will handle the supply is clarified in the commercial scope. In customer supply, the product, batch, shelf life, and technical documents are recorded during incoming inspection.
The bill of materials or BOQ, technical specification, drawings, and the approved paint system, if any, are sufficient. Items you do not have can be left blank; missing information does not prevent quotation, it only adds a clarification step.
Acceptance criteria come from the contract and technical specification. The Sa degree, surface profile, total DFT, and requested tests are put in writing at the quotation stage; measurement results are evaluated according to these criteria.
Let's clarify the scope of the specification together
Send your documents; our technical team will provide suggestions for missing items. A brief job description is sufficient for initial contact.
- Specification and drawing file can be attached
- Unknown technical fields can be left blank
- A reference number will be provided after submission
