Packaging and shipping

The value of a blasted and painted part is realized when it reaches the site undamaged. Packaging is therefore not the last step of shipping, but part of the coating process.

Purpose and scope

To ensure undamaged shipment of painted and processed products. All profiles, plates, pipes, equipment, modules, and accessories are covered by these principles.

Packaging Booklet

All principles on this page, along with drawings and site photos.

Packaging flow

Five steps from final inspection to the vehicle, proceeding in one direction. The next step is not taken until the previous one is completed.

  1. 01

    Final inspection

Quality gate. Quality, full curing, surface cleanliness, and part count are confirmed.

  2. 02

    Spacer / separator

  3. 03

    Strapping

  4. 04

    Labeling

Quality gate. Part identification label and shipping mark are compared with the shipping list.

  5. 05

    Loading / dispatch

Quality gate. Checklist is completed, vehicle is secured, dispatch is approved.

Records are taken at marked stops and the next step is not taken without approval.

Standard packaging types

Packaging cost is defined by the selected TYPE number. Packaging selection on quotation and order forms directly corresponds to these numbers.

TYPE 1 packaging application: simple packaging.
TYPE 1 Simple packaging
Basic packaging solution for pipes, large profiles, and beams.
Packaging material: Wooden blocks + plastic straps + separator
TYPE 2 packaging application: packaging on a wooden pallet.
TYPE 2 Packaging on wooden pallet
For large plates and products suitable for shipment on pallets.
Packaging material: Wooden pallet + straps + separator
TYPE 3 packaging application: steel-framed packaging.
TYPE 3 Steel frame packaging
For modules, painted fabrications, and products requiring rigid packaging.
Packaging material: Steel frame + steel frame + wooden blocks + separator
PACKING TYPE 4 application: wood crate.
TYPE 4 Wooden crate
For small plates, fittings, and small products requiring protected shipment.
Packaging material: Wooden crate + steel lashing + separator
PACKING TYPE 5 application: shrink plastic wrap.
TYPE 5 Shrink plastic wrapping
Additional protection preferred for export and long-distance shipments.

TYPE 3

Painted fabrications and modules

For large finished coated parts, packing is carried out with the same level of control as the coating itself. The objective is for the surface to be in the same condition when opened on site as it was when it left the facility.

  • Steel frame helps maintain the geometry of the package.
  • Wood blocks or separators are used between the product and the steel frame.
  • Part identification tag and shipping mark must be visible.
  • Package integrity and securing are checked before shipment.

Stack of painted beams enclosed in a steel chassis and frame; wood blocks and part identification tags at contact points

TYPE 5 · Export-ready protection

Shrink plastic coating option

An additional protection solution, especially preferred for export and long-distance shipments.

  • Additional protection against moisture, dust, and contamination
  • Reduces the risk of scratching on the paint surface
  • Recommended for long-distance and overseas shipments
  • Full curing control is performed before shrink wrapping

TYPE 6

Closed container and sliding loading

A secure stacking and skid-based loading solution for post-painting closed container transportation.

Protective blocks
Protective blocks are used at contact points inside the closed container.
Skid base
The part is loaded into the container by sliding on a skid base.
Stacking stability
Internal stacking stability and load securing are mandatory.
Intermediate material
Intermediate material should be used to prevent paint damage.

Shipping checklist

A seven-point checklist controlled before loading onto the vehicle and during shipment. Shipment approval is not given until the list is completed.

  1. 01 Package no / part label
  2. 02 Quantity and shipping list check
  3. 03 Wedge and separator suitability
  4. 04 Strap / binding security
  5. 05 Paint surface damage check
  6. 06 Loading direction and center of gravity
  7. 07 Vehicle securing and dispatch confirmation

Each package is marked with a part identification label and shipping mark; quantity and label checks can be performed in a single pass upon receipt of goods.

Frequently asked questions about packaging and shipping

The most frequently asked questions during the quotation phase. If you cannot find what you are looking for, you can write directly.

The packaging cost is defined by the selected TYPE number. In quotation and order forms, packaging is selected from TYPE 1 to TYPE 7, and the price is generated accordingly; there are no surprise items later.

The choice is determined by the part's geometry and shipping distance. TYPE 1 is suitable for pipes, large profiles, and beams; TYPE 2 for palletized products; TYPE 3 for modules and painted fabrications; TYPE 4 for small plates and fittings. For export and long distances, TYPE 5 shrink wrap is recommended for closed container transport, TYPE 6. Other requests are evaluated under TYPE 7.

Direct contact of painted surfaces with painted surfaces is prohibited. Wooden blocks or separators are placed at contact points, and corner protectors and stretch wrap are used where necessary. Packaging begins only after full paint curing has been checked.

Yes. For long-distance and overseas shipments, we recommend shrink plastic wrapping. It provides additional protection against moisture, dust, and dirt and reduces the risk of scratching the paint surface. Full curing is checked before shrink wrapping.

Yes, under TYPE 6. Loading is applied by sliding on the skid base in closed container transport. Protective chocks are placed on the contact points inside the container, the internal stacking balance is established, and the load is secured with steel tension belts.

Yes, TYPE 7 special packaging is for this purpose. The 3D model and AutoCAD drawings provided by you will be the basis; packaging details, lashing arrangement, chock placement, and protective intermediate materials will be applied according to these drawings. The applied drawing reference is recorded in the packaging record.

A seven-item checklist is applied: package no and part label, quantity and shipping list, chock and separator suitability, strap and lashing security, paint surface damage control, loading direction and center of gravity, vehicle securing and shipping approval.

Each package is marked with a part identification label and shipping mark. The label includes the package number and can be cross-referenced with the shipping list. This allows for a single-pass quantity and label check during goods receipt.

Evaluate your project with our technical team
