What blasting determines
Mill scale, rust, oil, and contamination remaining on the steel surface weaken paint adhesion. Proper blasting cleans the surface, creates a controlled profile, and provides a reliable foundation for the coating system to adhere to.

OMSG LAUCO 150 NP automatic line
Automatic turbine surface preparation for serial steel profiles, plates, and welded parts with suitable geometry. 2016 operating on the same line since
- Fast and homogeneous surface preparation on suitable part geometries
- Controlled abrasive blasting with a turbine system
- Closed process with abrasive recovery and filtration
- Surface inspection after blasting and controlled transfer to the painting process
Investment in a second automatic profile and plate processing line is planned.
- Closed system
- Abrasive recovery and filtration
- Mass production
- Repeatable process flow
- Quality
- Surface cleanliness and profile control
If your part does not fit the line
Manufactures not entering the automatic line cut-off 8 × 26 × 4,50 m are taken into a cabinet with internal double nozzles. The same cleanliness grades apply.
Large part blastingCleanliness grades
Which grade to apply is determined by the project specification. Visual acceptance reference ISO 8501-1, surface profile reference ISO 8503'type.
- Sa 2½ Very good blasting
- A high level of cleanliness where scale, rust, old coatings, and foreign matter are almost completely removed, leaving only light traces.
- Sa 3 Visually clean steel
- One of the highest visual blasting cleanliness levels where the surface achieves a homogeneous metallic appearance. Applied when required by the project specification.
Sandblasting quality gates
Surface profile, dust control, and pre-paint time management are critical quality parameters, as is surface cleanliness.
-
01
Pre-surface and grease contamination control
Oil, grease, weld residue, edge condition, and masking needs are determined.
-
02
Sa cleanliness degree
The specified degree is verified with a visual reference.
-
03
Surface profile
The target roughness is measured and compared with the adhesion requirement of the paint system.
-
04
Dust and contamination
The level of dust, salt, and chloride remaining on the surface is checked.
-
05
Pre-paint climate suitability
Air and surface temperature, relative humidity, and dew point are recorded.
Frequently asked questions
The most frequently asked questions during the quotation phase. If you cannot find what you are looking for, you can write directly.
Sa 2½ is a very good blasting level: mill scale, rust, old coatings, and foreign matter are almost completely removed, leaving only slight traces on the surface. Sa 3 is one of the highest visual cleanliness levels where the surface achieves a homogeneous metallic appearance and is applied when required by project specifications. The visual acceptance reference for both levels is ISO 8501-1.
When customer specifications are provided with SSPC or NACE/AMPP definitions, we apply them by matching them with their ISO equivalents. If your specifications mention SP 5, SP 6, SP 10, or SP 11, we clarify which ISO level they correspond to together during the quotation phase.
The sandblasted surface is taken into the painting process as soon as possible, protected from dust, moisture, flash rust, and re-contamination. Since sandblasting and painting are in the same area, the part moves to the next step without leaving the facility. Air and surface temperature, relative humidity, and dew point are recorded before painting.
The adhesion of the paint system depends not only on cleanliness but also on the surface roughness. The target profile is determined based on the abrasive used and the paint manufacturer's requirements; it is measured with reference to ISO 8503 and recorded in the blasting report.
Serial steel profiles, plates, and welded parts with repeated cross-sections move faster on the automatic line. Fabrications that do not fit the line's cross-section, have protrusions, or are box-sectioned are processed in the large part booth. The route selection is determined by the part's geometry, not the industry.
Yes. The facility is located in Arslanbey OSB Kartepe and serves the entire Marmara industrial basin. The site is organized with vehicle access suitable for heavy part movement, a crane-equipped storage area, and two weighbridges; shipment coordination is also carried out under the same roof.
